Fun and Safe blacksmithing
for couples and groups
Come hit metal with us
Of course there’s a blacksmith shop open for date nights, family hangs, or group outings, it’s the Bay Area.
We keep our classes safe and fun
Eye protection, aprons, hearing protection, safety training, and competent instructors mean you’ll have the best possible metal squishing session.
A glimpse into our classroom
Select your skill levelIf your partner prefers “Adventure Mode”:
Easy classes like the Bracelet (make two!), or Copper Feather are geared for fun instead of work. Partners can team up easily to make gorgeous wearable art for a fraction of the jeweler’s price. There’s no heavy hammer swinging in these classes, the goal is to be gentle and make art!
Classes are quick, 3-4 hours including safety training.
We also offer slightly harder difficulties:
Our Sword Box Cutter class uses steel and hotter temperatures, upping the challenge by a notch. This beginner class is our easiest blade making session, and quite a few steps are made easier with a friend helping you.
In the Railroad Spike Knife class, teamwork is encouraged and skillpoints come fast... this is the worldwide standard beginner class for good reason. Hardly a smith on earth who’s not made one, excellent instructional project and very pretty to boot.
For a NG+ Challenge
The Blacksmith’s Hammer class is an intermediate class that asks for role specialization: while one member spends skillpoints on Hammers & Strength, another member dumps points into Materials Handling and Leadership branches. This class is for returning students.

date nights
Hit the trail, hit the metal.
The Bay Trail is a gorgeous hike accessible before or after class. Our shop is very close to Meeker Slough and a mudflat that allows for a diversity of biology. Heron and sandpipers!
Bay Area MTC Says: “Between Point Isabel Regional Shoreline and Meeker Slough, walk the approximately one-mile stretch of Bay Trail next to Hoffman Marsh and look for egrets, herons, shorebirds, ducks and other waterfowl. If you’re lucky, you might also catch a glimpse of a Ridgway’s Rail.” (pictured, sorta)
