Camp and Steel
July 9th - 11th 2025
Venue
Mirabel Campground, Forestville CA
A lovely campground beneath the trees and directly adjacent to the Russian River. Just after July 4th so it should be less crowded.
Celeste and Jon have a 4 passenger inflatable boat with oars they’ll share. You can join along, bring a raft or a tube, or just swim along, hanging off the boat the whole trip.
There is a Wal-Mart we will stop at on the way that has inflatable tubes, water guns, sunscreen, and junk. There’s stores in Santa Rosa too.
We should bring our forged BBQ or Marshmallow tools, trail tools, fire tools, and some materials for copper raising… anything else?
Campfires are usually allowed but it’s up to the State. They sell native, cured, firewood onsite, please don’t bring non-native wood in to burn.
There are plumbed bathrooms and showers that have hot water. Sandals or water shoes recommended (for the river as well).
We need foldable camp chairs if you have one let us know. Ditto for tents, if you have one you can bring and share let us know!
Family style for daytime food, bring shareables of your preference. There’s a store nearby with stupid good deli sandwiches and a shopping inventory well suited to campers/rivergoers.
There will be a propane grill with a burner on the side. Celeste and Jon will provide dinner both nights.
Anyone have or can make a trivet for the campfire?
Our tent is gigantic and has room for 4 other sleepers, when you RSVP (the form) let us know if you need a spot.
Expect to store anything with a fragrance in a Bear Box (jerky, toothpaste, deodorant, granola bars etc…). The box is large but everything needs to fit, go easy on the smelly stuff, please!
Mirabel park has rules about their campgrounds, please follow them, we love camping here!
Suggested donation: $20-$30 depending on how many cars and how much firewood we want.
